Come in! Come in!
Welcome to the
Anythingspossible Land!
We’ll travel together
hand in hand.

We’ll play hopscotch,
then jump into the hay,
mess around in puddles,
be it sunny or be the sky grey.

We’ll leave a message in a bottle
and visit Mr McGregor’s beard
There’s a circus living in it.
Nothing to be feared!

You will meet the cheeky Little Amy
or Honeyfudge, the Ravenous Cat,
the funny and naughty Globberblob,
and pretend you are a bat.

You can meet Max the Crocodile
and an overgrown whale
or learn the Pinocchio’s
runny nosed tale.

Come in! Come in!
There’s so much more.
Open the book.
Yes. That’s your door.

Uncover the Whimsical World of As If I Couldn’t!: A Heartfelt Collection of Poems Launching on 26 November 2024

As of today, dive into the enchanting realm of childhood with
As If I Couldn’t!, a captivating new collection of poems that skilfully captures life’s small yet significant moments. Infused with tenderness and playful humor, these poems explore everything from the humorous struggle of a child dodging spinach to the adventures of a brave girl wishing to be a knight. It’s a world where not everything is as it seems, and even a baby monster can be scared of a child or a monkey can become a king.

Each poem reflects the innocent dilemmas of childhood—like a boy who fears the salon chair or the relentless plea of another child to avoid going to bed. These whimsical themes resonate with both children and adults, encouraging readers to wander into their own memories.

Indian ink illustrations by Katarina Bikard bring these tales to life. Under her brush, randomly places ink blots echo the candid mistakes and discoveries of youth. The artwork serve not only to complement the poetry but also to highlight the learning journey filled with fun, imagination, and the camaraderie of friends—reminding us all that growing up is as much about the missteps as it is about the triumphs.

As If I Couldn’t! is ideal for bedtime stories or quiet contemplation, serving as a timeless keepsake for families, educators, and poetry enthusiasts alike.

Join us in uncovering the joys and simple pleasures that these poems offer—a heartfelt celebration of childhood and a reminder that every page turned is another step into the magic of growing up.

Don’t miss out on this charming addition to any bookshelf, where adventure, laughter, and the beauty of imagination await.
